Not been much progress on this recently but have the stripes on the arm at least.
So, still prevaricating on finishing Igor and got distracted again. This time by the Guardians of the Galaxy kits.
Picked this one up off eBay for a decent price because the box had been damaged (like I care, it’s already been thrown out). It is the 1:9 scale version from Dragon. There is a larger scale version of Rocket but this one has the full sized Groot and is in scale with the other Dragon kits.
So finally got some photos of the finished Midas MkXX1 Iron Man suit. Nightmare to photograph to be honest with the reflective material and still not great pictures.
Fancied doing something a bit quicker than the current Igor kit, which I’ve got myself a bit unnecessarily bogged down with, and had the Nick Fury model from the excellent range of Dragon kits. Actually slightly nervous about this as there is so much black in his clothing. So did a little research and dropped a friend an email. Got some great advice and set about working on it.
Anyway, first off assembly and really simple. The coat is separate and can be removed and the arms fit in over this. So the whole thing can all come apart really cleanly for painting.
Pictures below are with absolutely no paint on it,. and just the plain vinyl.
Bit more progress last night. Arms pretty much done and assembly on the legs started.
Trying out the base which came with Hulk for size and looks about right. Shame they didn’t provide one. Continue reading Iron Man MKXXXVIII Igor (Part 2)
Right, time to start a new build and going to do the MkXXXVII “Igor”. Had originally thought of doing this is red instead of blue, which is how Igor is shown in the original artwork for the film, and I was thinking Hulkbuster at the time but as Dragon are going to do the proper Hulkbuster I’m going to stick to the on screen look now.
So quick look at the parts to start with.
Basically going to call this done.
All the bits now added on and glued up. Panel lines all washed in and lighting finalized. Just need to tidy up the wires and install the battery, and add a decal to the base.
