Starting to do some random posts of old builds and starting with the long since discontinued Revell Starfury which featured in the Babylon 5 series.
These are really nice kits and Revell released an initial version and then a limited version which featured more, and different, wing art.
For my first one I decided to do something a bit different and based it on a post which was seen in the background of the Head of Security’s office (Garibaldi for anyone who remembers it). This was of Daffy Duck.
(Sorry it was still a bit dusty when I took these pictures).
At the time I liked the black and yellow theme but it proved hard to weather and doesn’t quite look right.
Far too clean I think. One day I might go back and weather it properly.
It did have LEDs in it though. 4 blue ones for the engines and a small orange one in the cockpit to light that (sorry don’t have a picture of that).
For a second one I went with a version which was seen in one of the TV movies (time has blurred my memory of which one), but it was Ivanova’s Starfury and it had rockets mounted under the wings.
No lighting this time but much better weathering.
The rockets came from a 1:72 set sold for aircraft and although not a precise match for what is seen on screen they do look the part.
