Resin Modeller 1:2500 Constellation Class

A while ago I bought the 1:2500 Constellation Class which was sold by Resin Modeller.  The model retails for £15 plus postage (which was just 1st class post in the UK). I had a number of issues with the detail and the quality of the casting on it which I fed back to Resin Modeller at the time and we had quite a useful discussion.  The upshot of this was that he decided to remaster this kit using a 3D printed version.  This took sometime to produce but it is now available.

I will start with the original model. Continue reading Resin Modeller 1:2500 Constellation Class

RetroKit Star Wars Speeder

Adding some old builds which dropped off when I moved from one site to another, so here is a a build up of the RetroSF Rebel Speeder all combined into a single post.

Review

Picked up RetroKit’s Star Wars Speeder recently, as a test for a large Star Wars build which is going to be coming up soon, and very impressed with the quality and the detail on it.  I must confess to having been a little nervous ordering it as the website only had 1 very small image of the kit.  They have now updated this will a parts shot.

The kit is 25.99 euros plus a small delivery charge and arrived very quickly (with a couple of days).  They also contacted me to let me know that it was on it’s way.  Very good customer service and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Model arrived in a stout box to protect what turns out to be the numerous parts.

Fine Molds Star Wars X-Wing

Adding some old builds which dropped off when I moved from one site to another, so here is a a build up of the RetroSF Rebel Speeder all combined into a single post.

As the Speeder is nearing completion and I need to get it all sealed (and the weather outside is not great tonight, which is where I need to be to do the spraying) I decided to make a little start on the X-Wing that will also be part of the display.

The Fine Mold kits are pretty decent and need no introduction or review, there are plenty elsewhere.  So started with the cockpit.  Not sure about the placement of the imaging scanner thingy.  Looks too far forwards so might tweak that later.  Followed tak5haka’s idea of some extra cables which were done with some solder wire.
